Permit Validity and Error Messages
Find out how long export permits remain valid and what error messages you may encounter when submitting permit applications in TradeNet.
Permit Validity
The validity period of an export permit depends on the type of goods, the purpose of the export, and the place of release or receipt.
General Validity Periods
The table summarises the typical validity periods for export permits using the OUT message type.
Export permit (message type) | Validity Period* |
OUT | Approval date + 9 working days |
Approval date + 2 working days for dutiable goods released from Customs licensed premises | |
Approval date + 1 working day for movement of dutiable sea stores |
*Note: Refer to the validity period stated on your permit. If you cannot use the permit within the validity period, you should extend the validity period of the permit via TradeNet before it expires.
Error Messages
DCS Error
If your permit application is incomplete or contains an error, TradeNet will generate a DCS Error message.
You must correct the error and resubmit your application.
CA/SC Reject
If your permit application does not meet the requirements of Singapore Customs or another Competent Authority, you will receive a CA/SC Reject message.
You will need to submit a new permit application after making the required changes.
A new Unique Reference Number (URN) will be issued for the resubmitted application.
