Types of Export Permits
Learn the types of export permits in Singapore, including their message types, declaration types and codes, and when each should be used in TradeNet.

You must use the correct message type, declaration type, and permit code when applying for a Customs export permit in TradeNet. Different codes apply depending on the nature of your export.
All Customs permit applications must be submitted through TradeNet.
Direct Exports (OUT–DRT)
Export of goods under Direct Export (OUT–DRT)

Approved Premises / Schemes (OUT–APS)

Temporary Consignments (OUT–TC)
Export of goods under the Temporary Import Scheme (TIS):

Submitting Permit Applications
All export permit applications must be submitted through TradeNet, accessible via:
A TradeNet front-end solution from any approved solution provider
You may:
Appoint a Declaring Agent (DA) to submit permits on your behalf; or
Register as a DA and apply for a TradeNet user ID to submit permits for your own shipment or on behalf of clients.

If TradeNet is Unavailable
During an unscheduled TradeNet unavailability announcement by Singapore Customs, exporters who cannot obtain an approved permit may be advised to use a Letter of Undertaking (LOU) for cargo clearance.

Who may use the LOU
Exporters must obtain a permit within 3 days after TradeNet service is restored.
Strategic goods
For the export, transhipment or transit of Tier 1 Strategic Goods, Singapore Customs will issue a separate notice advising the use of a LOU for strategic goods.
