For Individuals or Parallel Importers
Learn how to apply for assessment of customs value for imported vehicles, including application procedures and required documents.
Once your vehicle has been purchased and shipped to Singapore, you need to apply for an assessment of the vehicle’s customs value. An application must be submitted for every imported vehicle.
How to Apply for Assessment of Vehicle’s Customs Value
Choose the appropriate form:
For Individuals: use the Individual Importer Form
For Parallel Importers: use the Parallel Importer Form
Prepare and submit the form with the following documents, where applicable:
Commercial invoice
Bill of lading
Freight and insurance invoices
Bills or receipts for additional incidental charges incurred during shipment
Manufacturer’s specification card (listing of all standard and optional features applicable to each vehicle)
Completion Inspection Certificate (CIC) Paper
Vehicle registration or de-registration documents from the country of export
Manufacturer’s letter confirming the vehicle’s manufacture date
Proof of payment (e.g. telegraphic transfer slip)
Clear photos of the odometer (showing mileage), interior, exterior, engine and /chassis number (for used vehicles)
Important Notes:
Parallel importers must register with Singapore Customs before importing dutiable vehicles. If you intend to register, email Customs_TTSB@customs.gov.sg to submit your request for further assistance.
Electric vehicles (including electric motorcycles/scooters): Email Customs_TTSB@customs.gov.sg first to check for additional requirements.
Response time: In general, you may expect a reply within 5 working days. For more complex applications, you may expect a reply within 7 working days.
